to adopt a little girl!

No news yet. But Brent and I have been slowly working on Analise’s room. I already mentioned it is brown, and that we were going to put pink polka-dots on it. Well, we have put them up, and it looks too cute.  I bought some curtains, which I intend to tweak a little to make them little girly. ;) I reminded Brent yesterday about how he built the boys a tree house, like he’d always wanted as a little boy, and told him I was decorating our little girl’s room like the room I always wanted as a little girl. We’ll see how it turns out in the end. We are working slowly, figuring we have plenty of time, but it helps us to pass the time as we wait. Brent painted the headboard to the bed we have decided to use. I have to put the finishing touches on it tomorrow, then we might attempt to put it together. We’ll see. I’ll try to take some pictures of the room soon and post them here.

As far as a timeline, if things are on schedule, we will reach the 4-7 month period this coming month. Doesn’t that sound exciting? However, right now, it is generally right at the one year mark that families are being registered in a region for little girls, so more than likely, it will be towards the 7 months wait….unless the Lord intervenes and moves things along more quickly in the coming months. It is all up to Him, and we are glad to know He is the one orchestrating it all.

That’s all for now, talk to you soon.

I love the verse referenced above…Be still and know that I am God…It is good to know I don’t have to worry, or try to make things happen. Yes, our worries of yesterday are already cleared up. All of our past payments have been accepted, and we only need to resend the check that expired. Yeah!! We prayed about it last night just before going to bed and left it to God. What a blessing to wake up this morning to this news first thing.

Thank you Lord, for showing us glimmers of encouragement along the way.

Well, it seems we are in a state of confusion. We thought we were doing good as far as adoption fees. We just found out this week, they don’t accept the payments via credit cards, which we have made many in this format. OOps! Our coordinator held onto one check, then it expired, thus we had to write another. So, we are in the process of squaring away this mess, so that we can be right ready for our referral. And even in this, I’m quite confident that the Lord is in control. It is all about His timing. :)

Hello everyone. It has been a while since I last updated. We have heard nothing new. We are working on getting two items of paper work which have to come from our home study agent. Russia is asking for two additional copies of a paper which has already been sent. So hopefully we will be able to send it within the next week or so.

Well, I finally finished up the baby doll I had been working on over the summer. I’ll post a picture of her here. We have also put the polka-dots on her bedroom wall. I went to my mom and dad’s to get the headboard to my childhood bed. Wow, what memories it brought back, all the way to the chipped paint from bubblegum stuck on it over night!! It seems so much smaller than I remember it. Anyway, I’ll have to sand it down and repaint it. That should keep me occupied!!

We’ll post if we hear anything new. I keep reminding myself, when the Lord’s timing is perfect, it will happen, regardless of events going on around. Enjoy the picture.
